Coming Up Short is almost old enough to drink! Join Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine as they celebrate episode number 20 with our in-studio guest Ciro Dobric. Jon and Eric try to get to the bottom of what makes Ciro tick, how he got started in comedy and when he found his voice. We also talk to Ciro about some interesting incidents that have taken place in the past with comedians and audience goers alike and why you need to really believe in a joke to sell it.

Ciro, Eric, and Jon also talk about this week’s Standup Spotlight of the Week, Rachel Blavatnik.  Eric does his best not to murder her name and we try to finally define what quge means.

This week’s episode, number 19, is a good one on the Coming Up Short podcast. Eric Rosenblum and Jon Levine dig into some pretty serious topics and new additions to the South Florida comedy scene.

Jon and Eric take time this week to cover the topics of selling out and what that means to both rookie and seasoned comedians alike. Also, the topic of marketing and when it should, and should not be, done (which is a topic that Jon and Franco Harris spoke about at length).

As for new additions, Eric and Jon highlight Rhett Thompson’s new room that’s starting this week in downtown Miami, as well as several shows that the two of them have coming up.

Finally, our Standup Spotlight of the week, Micaela Fagan, gets a shoutout as we discuss all of the great and fun stuff she’s doing on stage.

This week Jon Levine and Eric Rosenblum welcome Chris TOpher (Chris Roe) to the Coming Up Short studios. Chris, Eric and Jon tackle one of the biggest questions out there right off the bat: is it TOpher, Roe or Miller? We also have a great discussion about the different ‘levels’ of comedian in a local market, how Chris got into comedy and what made him stay there and the importance of recording and watching your own work. 

The three also talk about Chris’s first nightmare gig, what Tim Hanlon’s ringtone probably is, and Jon’s recent trip to Belushi’s Comedy Bar in Fort Myers.

To celebrate 16 episodes of Coming Up Short, Jon Levine and Eric Rosenblum welcome in to the Chula Vista Studios a man that is very near and dear to the hearts of many comedians in South Florida, Will Watkins! Not only that, but this is our first hour-long episode. It was packed with so much good content, 30 minutes just didn’t do it justice.

Will, Eric and Jon talk about making the transition from being a comedian in South Florida to one in New York City, what it feels like to get 45 seconds of stage time, phrases that Eric has never heard and Will’s dislike of easy left turns. He also throws in the McDonalds’ jingle.
